The International Society of Geriatric Oncology (SIOG), or Société Internationale d’Oncologie Gériatrique in French, hence the acronym SIOG, was founded in 2000. The major risk factor for cancer is age, and with the aging of the world population, a major epidemiologic challenge is before us.

Lead by Editor-in-Chief, Arti Hurria (City of Hope, Duarte, USA), the Journal of Geriatric Oncology is an international, multidisciplinary journal which is focused on advancing research in the pathogenesis, biology, treatment, and survivorship issues of older adults with cancer. The journal covers all aspects of geriatric oncology, from basic scientific research through to clinical research, as well as research that is relevant to education and policy development.
